"He called you by our gospel..."
Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:14
SALVATION FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE
Salvation may be understood from different perspectives. The apostle Paul describes salvation from God’s perspective and this is truly awesome!
“To which He called you by our gospel, for
the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions
which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.”
2 Thessalonians 2:14-15
1. God’s perspective
a) He chose 2 Thessalonians 2:13

a) The gospel

3. God’s goals
a) To grant salvation
b) To give glory to believers
i) The glory of the Lord Jesus

a) The apostles
b) Those who preach the gospel
What would be an appropriate response to such a glorious salvation so graciously extended?
1. “Stand fast”
a) We have every reason to do that.
b) We have no reason to vacillate.
2. “Hold the traditions”
This is a reference to the full content to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
