"When all things are made subject to Him..."

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:28

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RETURN OF CHRIST

All genuine believers should look forward to the Second Coming of Christ. Nothing could compare with the glory of His Second Coming.

“Now when all things are made subject to Him,
then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him
who put all things under Him,
that God may be all in all.”
1 Corinthians 15:28

1. “Now when all things are made subject to Him”

a) All things will not easily be submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ.
b) Much resistance must be expected.
c) The following will offer resistance:
i) Rebellious mankind will still reject the Lord.
ii) The Anti-Christ will arise and lead many astray.
iii) Satan and his demonic hordes will put up strong resistance.
d) But in the final analysis
i) All resistance will be useless.
ii) All enemies will be defeated.
iii) All will be made subject to the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. “Then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him”

a) The Lord Jesus Christ though He was equal to God has always played the role of Son.
b) And as Son, He will be subject to the Father, right to the very end.
c) In glorious humility, the Son will acknowledge the Father.
d) He Himself will practise Divine and Perfect submission.
e) What a glorious example of full and true humility.

3. “That God may be all in all”

a) This was the original Divine Plan.
b) But sin disrupted this Divine Order.
c) Christ Jesus had to come and put things
i) Through salvation at His first Coming.
ii) Through conquest of death and Satan at His Second Coming.
iii) He will then submit Himself and all He has done to God the Father.
iv) The original Divine Order would then be fully restored.
