"Surely I am coming quickly"

Text: Revelation 22:20

AWAITING THE RETURN OF THE LORD JESUS

The Lord concludes His teaching in the Book of Revelation with another word of comforting assurance. Let us cultivate a strong heart of faith and hope as we await the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ!

“He who testifies to these things says,
‘Surely I am coming quickly.’
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.”
Revelation 22:20-21

1. The Lord’s Testimony.

a) The Lord’s Teaching is carefully recorded in Revelation.

b) The means of communication deep spiritual truths:

i) Deep spiritual Visions were given.

ii) Visions of Life in the End Times.

iii) Visions of Heaven.

iv) Visions of Hell.

v) Visions of Judgment of the Wicked.

vi) Visions of Reward for the Faithful and righteous.

vii) Visions of War (Armageddon).

viii) Visions of the Worship of God in Heaven.

ix) Visions of a New Heaven and Earth.

c) The Lord Himself testifies of the truth of these Visions found in the Book of Revelation.

d) Once again, He gives His assurance.

“Surely I am coming quickly.” Revelation 22:20a

e) May these words be precious and very real to our hearts!

2. Heartfelt and humble response.

“Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” Revelation 22:20b

a) John expresses full agreement when he said “Amen!”

b) He looks forward to the Lord’s Return.

c) He wishes that He would return soon.

A BRIEF BENEDICTION

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
Revelation 22:21

a) The grace of our Lord Jesus.

i) The word “grace” covers all aspects our life:

ii) Salvation

iii) Sanctification

iv) Serving

b) May we ever be conscious of the Lord’s grace bestowed on us!

c) Amen!
Let the heart, mind and spirit be in full agreement as we ponder the experience of God’s promise grace! His grace is truly all-sufficient!
