"The Lord God Omnipotent reigns"

Text: Revelation 19:6

THE VOICE OF A GREAT MULTITUDE

The worship of God would be a major focus in heaven. Myriads of worshippers would raise their voice in praise of God!

“And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude,
as the sound of many waters
and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying,
‘Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and His wife has made herself ready.’
And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”
Revelation 19:6-8

1. The voice of myriads of devoted worshippers.

a) It was compared to “the sound of many waters”.

b) It was further compared to “the sound of mighty thunderings”.

2. The cry of “Alleluia”.

a) The focus was on the Lord God.

b) He reigns as an Omnipotent God.

3. The special occasion.

a) It was the Marriage of the Lamb.

b) The wife of the Lamb has made herself ready.

4. A call to rejoice jubilantly:

a) To be glad

b) To rejoice.

c) To give the Lord glory.

d) The occasion of the Lamb’s marriage would be glorious.

e) The wife of the Lamb is the Church.

5. The wedding garments of the bride of the Lamb.

a) Fine linen.

b) Clean and bright.

c) The fine linen is a reference to “the righteous acts of the saints”.
