"It is their just due"

Text: Revelation 16:6

AN IMPORTANT RESPONSE TO NOTE

Three terrible Bowls of wrath had been poured out. An angel of the waters responded to these judgments of God.

“And I heard the angel of the waters saying:
‘You are righteous, O Lord,
The One who is and who was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.’
And I heard another from the altar saying,
‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are
Your judgments.'”
Revelation 16:5-7

1. God has many mighty angels.

a) They are assigned different tasks to perform.

b) We learn here that God has Angels who look after the waters.

2. The response of the Angel who looked after the waters.

a) He proclaims that God is righteous.

b) Mankind and its creatures may suffer.

c) But God remains who He is:

i) Just

ii) Faithful

iii) Consistent

d) His judgment cannot be disputed.

3. An understanding of God’s severe judgment.

a) The wicked had shed the blood of the saints and the prophets.

b) Thus, they are guilty of committing serious sins.

c) God’s divine justice.

i) They had shed much innocent blood.

ii) Thus, God has given them blood to drink.

4. An Angel from the altar in heaven.

a) He agrees with the Angel of the waters.

b) He proclaims the name of God, “Lord God Almighty”.

c) He supports the proclamation of the Angel of the waters.
“True and righteous are Your judgments”.
