INFALLIBLE PROOFS

POST-EASTER 

The Lord Jesus continued to minister to His disciples after He rose from the dead. The historian Luke recorded the following things after His resurrection.

1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 

2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 

3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.     Acts 1:1-3

  1. The Gospels

a) They recorded what the Lord Jesus taught

b) They also recorded what He did

i) Healing

ii) Casting out demons

  1. Infallible Proofs

a) They were shown to the Disciples

b) They needed to believe that the Lord had indeed risen from the dead

c) He showed Himself alive to them for forty days

  1. Before Ascension

a) He gave clear commandments to the Apostles

b) Through the Holy Spirit

c) They had a huge ministry that they must attempt

THE CHALLENGE TO THE APOSTLES

  1. To be effective witnesses
  1. To preach the kingdom of God
  1. To usher in the Age of the Church

The Apostles did their work with admirable courage and commitment! The first Church at Jerusalem was a resounding success!
