WALK WORTHY OF THE CALLING

Text: Ephesians 4:1-6

THE CALL OF GOD

The Lord first calls us to find salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is through believing in the Gospel of the Kingdom of God that we become children of God. 

Paul went on to apply the concept of God’s Calling with reference to keeping the unity of the Spirit. Sadly, the Church of God is badly divided because it has failed to heed the Lord’s Call.

1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 

2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 

5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 

6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.     Ephesians 4:1-6

  1. Walking worthy of God’s calling

a) We have to cultivate our Christian character first

b) The following were emphasised:

i)  Lowliness and gentleness

ii) Longsuffering and love

  1. Endeavouring to keep the Unity of the Spiri

a) We have One Body and One Spirit

b) We have One hope

c) One Lord, one faith, one baptism

d) One God and Father 

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. We are a Bethany IPC Family of Churches
  1. We must do our utmost to keep this Unity of the Spirit
