THE MINISTRY OF THE MESSIAH

The Messiah would be gloriously filled with the Holy Spirit. That would affect every aspect of His life and ministry.

3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD,

And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,

Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;

4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,

And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;

He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,

And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,

And faithfulness the belt of His waist.     Isaiah 11:3-5

  1. Life affected wonderfully

a) His delight is in the practice of the fear of God

b) Righteousness will be the mainstay of His life

c) Righteousness would be the belt of His loins

  1. Ministry affected significantly

a) He will not be judgmental

b) If He has to make a judgment or decision, He would be well-guided

c) The Spirit of God would be given

i)  Knowledge would be there

ii) Understanding and wisdom would be found

  1. Faithfulness

a) This is the result of consistently practising righteousness

b) He will judge with equity

i)  He will deal with the wicked

ii) He will uphold justice for the poor who are oppressed

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To follow the ways of the Messiah
  1. To seek to be filled with the Spirit of God
  1. To practise righteousness and faithfulness
