UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

Text: Isaiah 9
16 November 2025

THE BIRTH OF THE MESSIAH

Amidst the deep darkness, God gave a glorious promise. He would send His glorious Son to be that Great Light!

6 For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of His government and peace

There will be no end,

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever.

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.     Isaiah 9:6-7

  1. The identity of God’s Son revealed by His name

a) Wonderful

b) Counselor

c) Mighty God

d) Everlasting Father

e) Prince of Peace

  1. The Kingdom He will establish

a) It will be an everlasting kingdom

b) It would be wonderfully governed

c) The Lord God Himself guarantees that this prophecy would be fulfilled

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To appreciate afresh the Lord as the Great Light
  1. To cherish afresh the kingdom of God
  1. To invite people into His glorious kingdom
