Day 17

"Hear what the Spirit says to the churches"

Text: Revelation 2:7

THE DEEDS OF THE NICOLAITANS

False teachers abounded in the first century. Many believers did not have a deep enough faith to protect themselves from false teachers. One such group was called the Nicolaitans.

Nicolas was the last person named in a group of seven men presented to the Apostles to serve as their helpers. Apparently, Nicolas went astray and became associated with immoral activities. Their presence was also noted in the Pergamos Church (Revelation 2:15).

“But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans,
which I also hate. He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life,
which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”
Revelation 2:6-7
