Day 440

"And behold, the glory of the God of Israel"

Text: Ezekiel 43:1

THE RETURN OF THE GLORY OF GOD

Ezekiel recorded sorrowfully the departure of the glory of God (Ezekiel 10). The departure of God’s glory meant that the old Temple was no more than a shell that was no longer regarded or accepted.

In Ezekiel 43 we read about the Return of the glory of God. The special attention given in the earlier chapters were just a preface to this great event- the Return of the glory of God to the Temple!

“Afterward he brought me to the gate,
the gate that faces toward the east.
And behold, the glory of the God of Israel
came from the way of the east.
His voice was like the sound of many waters;
and the earth shone with His glory.
It was like the appearance of the vision which I saw—
like the vision which I saw when I came to destroy the city.
The visions were like the vision
which I saw by the River Chebar;
and I fell on my face.”
