"The Spirit lifted me up"

Text: Ezekiel 43:5

THE GLORY OF GOD FILLING THE TEMPLE

It was noted with joy the Return of the glory of God at the Eastern Gate. That same glory then entered into the Temple and filled it!

“And the glory of the Lord came into the temple
by way of the gate which faces toward the east.
The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court;
and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
Then I heard Him speaking to me from the temple,
while a man stood beside me.”
Ezekiel 43:4-6

1. The glory of the Lord.

a) It was a dazzling sight.

b) Ezekiel noted how that glory:

i) Moved into the Temple.

ii) Filled the Temple.

iii) Thus the Temple was sanctified and blessed by the Lord.

2. The Spirit of the Lord.

a) He exerted His power over Ezekiel.

b) He brought the prophet into the inner court.

c) Ezekiel saw the glory of God in the inner court.

d) The Temple was filled with the glorious presence of God.

e) It took the Spirit of God to open the eyes of Ezekiel to see this special vision of the glory of God.

3. Hearing the voice of the Lord.

a) Ezekiel was now enabled to hear the voice of the Lord.

b) Once again, this has to be attributed to the work of God’s Holy Spirit.

4. A profound experience.

a) This was a profound experience.

b) It could only be described.

c) It was a life-transforming experience.
