Day 409

"So that the nations may know Me"

Text: Ezekiel 38:16

GOD’S DIVINE PLAN

Gog and his coalition of armies had their own plans. They were determined to conquer Israel whom they regarded as a defenceless nation. God revealed His own Divine Plan to Ezekiel. This word was to be prophesied to Gog of Magog.

“‘You will come up against My people Israel
like a cloud, to cover the land.
It will be in the latter days
that I will bring you against My land,
so that the nations may know Me,
when I am hallowed in you,
O Gog, before their eyes.’
Thus says the Lord God:
‘Are you he of whom I have spoken
in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel,
who prophesied for years in those days
that I would bring you against them?'”
Ezekiel 38:16-17

1. Gog’s plans.

a) To go against the people of Israel like a cloud.

b) Gog would descend on Israel like a cloud that covers the land.

2. The Lord’s divine plan.

a) God will let Gog and his allies to attack Israel, His people.

b) In fact, He will personally lead them from the far north to the land of Israel.

c) Why would the Lord do this?

i) So that all the nations would know God.

ii) They will hallow the name of God when He defeats Gog.

iii) This attack on Israel was fully known to God.

3. A forewarned enemy of Israel

a) God had sent many of His servants the prophets.

b) These prophets had given many forewarnings to Israel.

c) They had known for years what Gog and his allies would attempt to do against Israel, His people.

Without question, God would defend His people. He would deliver them from the wicked hand of Gog! And all the nations would hallow the Lord as the true God!
