FOR THOSE WHO FEAR YOU

Text: Psalm 31

THE BLESSINGS OF THE FEAR OF GOD

There are many blessings associated with the practice of the fear of God. We have a short list of these blessings.

19 Oh, how great is Your goodness,

Which You have laid up for those who fear You,

Which You have prepared for those who trust in You

In the presence of the sons of men!

20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence

From the plots of man;

You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion

From the strife of tongues.

21 Blessed be the LORD,

For He has shown me His marvellous kindness in a strong city!     Psalm 31:19-21

  1. Great goodness 

a) God’s goodness will be bestowed 

b) This goodness would be voluminous

  1. God’s protection

a) Many are the plots of wicked people

b) The Lord would protect His people from wicked plots

c) He would keep them from the strife of tongues

  1. God’s marvellous kindness

a) He will keep His people in a strong city

b) He will evidence His kindness in practical ways

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To learn how to fear the Lord
  1. To practise this by trusting God
  1. To learn how to wait upon the Lord faithfully
