MEDITATION
Exodus 32:15-16
15 And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Called to go up the mountain
a. God had given instructions concerning the Tabernacle plans (Exodus 25-31).
b. There were so many important details:
i. To ponder over.
ii. To make plans.
2. Before leaving the mountain
a. God had warned Moses of His anger against the children of Israel!
b. In such a short time:
i. They had forgotten.
ii. They had rebelled.
iii. They turned to worship a golden calf.
c. Moses interceded
i. Humbly
ii. Earnestly
iii. Continually
Until God’s anger was turned away.
3. Coming down the mountain
a. He carried with him two tablets of stone.
b. These contained the 10 Commandments.
c. God had personally written these laws down.
d. These writings were priceless in value.
4. This could have been a glorious moment for Israel in its brief history
But the special moment of glory had been spoilt by the unthinkable corruption of Israel
