Dear Parents,

THE FOCUS IS NOT ON THE WEDDING
The focus in modern times is often on the wedding rather than on marriage! Much attention is devoted to the wedding event rather than on the marriage. There is no discounting of the worth of a beautiful wedding, but due attention must be given to marriage! (There is no description of the wedding at all; much attention however is given to the marriage.)

THE VIRTUE OF COMMITMENT
The first virtue that we must take note of is “commitment”.

The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.

Proverbs 31:11-12

1. “The heart of her husband safely trusts her”

a) The virtuous wife is a trustworthy one.

b) She is highly dependable.

c) She is not cunning or scheming.

2. “She does him good and not evil”

a) The virtuous wife will seek only the good of her husband.

b) She will never do evil against him.

3. A commitment for life

a) This commitment is not short-lived.

b) It is not dependent upon circumstances of life.

c) A person of virtue is able to sustain this commitment for life.

TEACHING CHILDREN ABOUT THE VIRTUE OF COMMITMENT
Let us be deeply committed to the challenge of teaching about virtues to our children! May our children grow up to become people of deep commitment!
