I Am Merciful
Is there any hope for people who have backslided badly?
Far from God, and on the verge of a godless eternity?
Despite the many sins people may commit against the Lord,
He still graciously says, “ I am merciful,” and “ I am your God!”
The mercy of God is a profound truth that must cause us to wonder,
How could there be such mercy in God? This thought, we must ponder!
This merciful God invites all who sin to return to His side,
He will make atonement, with His beloved children He will abide!
All He asks for is the confession of our many grave sins,
He has power to make us whole, cleansing from deep within!
Who has not transgressed the holy commandments of the Lord?
Yet, great grace may be found in our truly merciful God!
May our conscience convict us of our need to seek the Lord!
In true humility may we come to the merciful throne of God.
There is mercy with the Lord to cleanse and make us fully whole,
There is power in God to remove the dross and make us refined gold!
