Chinese New Year – A Great Time To Bear Witness

Happy Chinese New Year! This weekend, we celebrate our lunar new year. It is a time of celebrating and meeting up with family and relatives. It is easy for young people to feel that going for such visitations can be a real hassle and a waste of time. Some would prefer to stay at home and watch television or play on their computers. Young people, let us not have such an attitude. This holiday period can be a great opportunity for us to bear witness for the Lord. We can bear testimony to our relatives and friends about our faith through our words and actions. Let’s not let this chance pass us by.

Paul’s Example In Bearing Witness

Paul would grab at every opportunity to share the gospel. How did he do this?

1. Having A Deep Sense Of Indebtedness To People

“I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.”
Romans 1:14

He felt a deep sense of indebtedness to share the gospel with everyone. After experiencing the privilege of being saved and called into the ministry, Paul felt a deep sense of obligation to speak to all about the Lord. Young people, we owe it to the Lord and to our cousins and friends to tell them about Him.

2. Being Not Ashamed Of What We Believe In

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Romans 1:16

Paul was not ashamed of the gospel because he believed that it had tremendous power. It has the very power to give salvation. Let’s also not be ashamed of the gospel. Let’s bear testimony of the gospel to people by the way we regard others, by the smiles on our faces, and by the words we say. Let’s confidently bear testimony of the gospel.

3. Readiness To Proclaim The Gospel To Others

“So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.”
Romans 1:15

When the opportunity arises, let’s be ready to share the gospel. Let’s grab every opportunity to tell others about what Christ has done for us. With whatever we have within us, let’s proclaim the truth. Let’s not be afraid to try and to keep trying with greater wisdom and fervor. Let’s be prepared to bear testimony to others.
