THE PROVISION OF QUAIL

(Numbers 13:31-32)

1. In answer to the intense demands of the mixed multitude

2. The people stayed up all night and all the next day to gather the quails

THE AMOUNT TAKEN BY INDIVIDUALS

1. He who gathered least had 10 homers

a) 50-100 bushels
b) Several cart-loads

2. What does this mean?

a) Greed
b) Unbelief (That God could supply in such abundance again)
c) The bulk of the quails would have to be salted to preserve the meat

THE WRATH OF GOD

(Numbers 11:33-35)

1. The wrath of God

2. A great plague struck the people

3. Many perished

4. Place was called Kibroth Hattavaah (“Grave of Craving”)

COMMENTARY ON THIS EVENT

(Psalm 78:26-33)

1. God’s power evidenced

2. The wrath of God came upon them

3. In spite of this they still sinned and did not believe in His wondrous works
