REPORT TO KING BALAK

“Balaam refuses to come with us”   Numbers 22:14

SECOND DELEGATION SENT TO BALAAM

1. More princes

2. More honourable than the previous ones   (Numbers 22:15)

3. Message to Balaam

a) Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me
b) I will certainly honour you greatly
c) I will do whatever you say to me
d) Please come, curse this people for me   (Numbers 22:15-17)

BALAAM’S REPLY TO THE SECOND DELEGATION

1. Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold

2. I could not go beyond the word of the LORD my God to do less or to do more

3. Stay here tonight

4. That I may know what more the LORD will say to me

(Numbers 22:18-19)

GOD’S WORD TO BALAAM

1. If the men come to call you

2. Rise and go with them

3. But only the word which I speak to you- that you shall do

(Numbers 22:20)

BALAAM’S RESPONSE

1. He rose in the morning

2. Saddled his donkey and went with the princes of Moab

(Numbers 22:21)

GOD’S ANGER

1. His anger was aroused because he went

2. Why was God angry?

a) That Balaam had gone to curse Israel
b) That he was covetous of the reward that Balak had promised
c) That he was turning out to be a renegade prophet

3. He expected better from Balaam

a) He should have known better
b) God had already told him not to go in the first place
