i) Scourged (Matthew 26:26)
ii) Crucified (Matthew 26:26, 31, 35)
A CALL TO FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS IN SUFFERING
1. For to this you were called (1 Peter 2:21a)
2. Because Christ also suffered for us (1 Peter 2:21b)
3. Leaving us an example (1 Peter 1:21c)
4. That we should follow in His steps (1 Peter 2:21d)
THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS IN FACING SUFFERING
1. He committed no sin (1 Peter 2:22a)
2. Neither was deceit found in His mouth (1 Peter 2:22b)
3. When He was reviled, He did not revile in return (1 Peter 2:23a)
4. When He suffered, He did not threaten (1 Peter 2:23b)
5. He committed Himself to Him who judges righteously (1 Peter 2:23c)
