GOD’S CHOICES NOTED

1. What God did not choose

a) He rejected the tent of Joseph   (Psalm 78:67)
b) He did not choose the tribe of Ephraim   (Psalm 78:67)

2. God’s choice of Judah   (Psalm 78:68)

a) Judah was not the firstborn
b) He was not as outstanding as Ephraim   (Psalm 78:68)
c) His choice is profound and sovereign

3. God’s choice of Zion   (Psalm 78:68)

a) He loved Zion   (Psalm 78:68)
b) He built His sanctuary there   (Psalm 78:69)
c) He has established it forever   (Psalm 78:69)

4.God’s choice of David   (Psalm 78:70)

a) He chose him from the sheepfold   (Psalm 78:70)
b) He chose him to be His servant   (Psalm 78:70)
c) He chose him to shepherd His people   (Psalm 78:71)

LESSONS LEARNED FROM DAVID’S EXAMPLE

1. He shepherded the flock of Israel

3. He guided the nation of Israel skilfully with his hands
