Called in the Grace of Christ

THE CALLING OF GOD

1. It is often misunderstood

a) That it is only for prophets
b) That it is only for pastors/ or full-time servants of God

2. Thus, the Call of God

a) It is not well-appreciated personally
b) It is not as precious as it should be

THE GRACE-CALL OF GOD

1. The call of God in the grace of Christ   (Galatians 1:6a)

a) This was mentioned
b) This was taught

2. The grace of God explained   (Galatians 1:3)

a) It comes from God the Father: Source
b) It comes from the Lord Jesus Christ: The Channel of God’s grace

3. The grace that comes from the Lord Jesus Christ   (Galatians 1:4)

a) He gave Himself for our sins   (Galatians 1:4a)
b) Christ Jesus came to deliver us from this evil age   (Galatians 1:4b)
c) This is in accordance of God’s will   (Galatians 1:4c)
d) The Gospel of Christ is centred on Grace

THE DANGER OF A FALSE GOSPEL

1. It is a different Gospel   (Galatians 1:6b)

2. It is a perverted Gospel   (Galatians 1:7)

3. An apostolic curse pronounced   (Galatians 1:8-9)

THE CALL TO SALVATION BY GRACE

1. Paul was called by the grace of God   (Galatians 1:15)

2. The story of his conversion   (Acts 9)

3. His salvation illustrates how the grace-call of God operates

4. This was one of the purposes of God when He gave a grace-call to Paul for salvation
