GIVING THANKS
The giving of thanks to the Lord was the central idea in Psalm 107. The Psalmist began with giving thanks to God for His redemption. He then followed the thought of giving thanks as his main focus throughout the Psalm.
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever!
Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men. Psalm 107:1,8

OUR BIGGEST PROBLEMS
The Psalmist urged all his readers to give thanks to God for good reason. He knew, from experience just how wicked the human heart truly is! The human heart is perverse and wicked and tends to do all the wrong things! Three may be highlighted: –
- Wandering away from God and landing in trouble Psalm 107:4
- Rebelling against the word of God Psalm 107:11
- Transgressing and being caught up with iniquity Psalm 107:17
THE SACRIFICES OF THANKSGIVING
Thank God for His goodness and His tender mercy. Let us in gratitude do the following as we celebrate Bethany’s 40+5 Anniversary!
Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And declare His works with rejoicing. Psalm 107:22
Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people,
And praise Him in the company of elders. Psalm 107: 22, 32
- Let us give thanks to the Lord
- Let us declare His works with rejoicing
- Let us exalt Him
- Let us praise Him!
