AMIDST

1. Trouble and darkness (Isaiah 8:22a)

2. Gloom of anguish (Isaiah 8:22b)

3. Driven into darkness (Isaiah 8:22c)

THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN OUR MIDST

1. A precious promise

2. A wonderful reality

3. The Lord is indeed great

4. Features:

a) A covering (Isaiah 4:5)
b) A refuge and a shelter (Isaiah 4:6)

EVERY ENCOURAGEMENT TO RESPOND POSITIVELY

1. Walk

Let us walk in the light of the LORD (Isaiah 2:5)

2. Relating to The LORD of hosts (Isaiah 8:13)

a) Him you shall hallow (Isaiah 8:12a)
b) Let Him be your fear/ dread (Isaiah 8:12b)
c) He will be a sanctuary (Isaiah 8:14)
d) But also a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense (Isaiah 8:14)

3. Wait and Hope

a) I will wait on the LORD (Isaiah 8:17a)
b) And I will hope in Him (Isaiah 8:17b)

4. Praise

O LORD, I will praise You (Isaiah 12:1)

 

a) Psalms (Much to be learned)
b) Personal (Much practice needed)
Seven times a day I praise You (Psalm 119:164)

5. Trust

I will trust and not be afraid (Isaiah 12:2)

a) Faith to be exercised
b) Trust tested in the midst of life’s difficult circumstances

6. Strength and song

The LORD is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2)

a) Strength
i)_ Source of strength- the Lord
ii) Finding that strength
iii) Living in the strength of the Lord

b) Song

i) God gives the song… in the night seasons of life
ii) To be remembered
iii) Practise singing the songs God has given

7. Therefore with joy… draw water

Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3)

a) Joy of the redeemed
b) Joy of the Lord
c) Joy of discovery
d) Joy in life
e) Joy in ministry
