"Be careful to maintain good works..."

Text: Titus 3:8

SALVATION AND GOOD WORKS

The apostle Paul made it very clear that salvation is not obtained through good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, he also carefully taught that good works must be maintained in the life of the true believer.

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I want
you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed
in God should be careful to maintain good works.
These things are good and profitable to men.”

DOING GOOD

This was certainly taught by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Good works were likened to “light” that shines in the dark.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
Your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
