"I will look to the LORD"

Text: Micah 7:7

A PERSONAL RESPONSE

Micah would also suffer with the rest of the nation. But he offered his personal response to the calamity of war that would engulf the country.

“Therefore I will look to the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.”
Micah 7:7

1. The general public

a) Fear prevailed for many.
b) An air of resignation came upon some.
c) Some others remained defiant, steeped in their unbelief.

2. “Therefore I will look to the LORD”

a) Micah would go against the common trend.
b) This would involve personal faith.
c) Trust in the Lord would be needed.
d) In whatever situation he might find himself, he would look up to the LORD unwaveringly.
e) He would never turn to the following:
i) Idols
ii) Wickedness
iii) He would not place his trust in man.

3. “I will wait for the God of my salvation”

a) He had believed in God for salvation.
b) He would exercise faith by waiting upon God.
c) This would mean:
i) He would pray to the Lord.
ii) He would trust in God’s deliverance.
iii) He will not give in to fear and unbelief.

4. “My God will hear me”

a) This speaks of a vital faith in God.
b) His prayers would be heard.
c) God will not let him down. This expresses a strong sense of assurance in his heart.
