"The manifestation of the Spirit..."

Text: 1 Corinthians 12:7

THE FOCUS ON THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is totally correct to give time and attention to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ taught His disciples that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to minister in His name (John 14:26).

“But the manifestation of the Spirit
is given to each one for the profit of all.”
1 Corinthians 12:7

1. The Spirit of God

a) He was given to all true believers.
i) As a Seal
ii) As a Guarantee (Ephesians 1:13-14)
b) He would also have a very strong and active ministry in the lives of God’s children.
The following activities may be highlighted (Romans 8):
i) He would indwell believers.
ii) He gives comforting assurance that we truly are the children of God.
iii) He regenerates life in all who truly follow the Lord.
iv) He would teach them how to pray.
iv) He would lead them.
v) He would even intercede for them.

2. The manifestation of the Spirit

a) This is best seen in the spiritual gifts He imparts.
b) He empowers those who are gifted so that their gifts may be properly employed.
i) To strengthen the ministry of the Church.
ii) To enhance the ministry of the Lord’s servants.
iii) To enable them to bear fruits.
c) The manifestation serves the following purposes:
i) His authority
ii) His power
iii) His personal involvement
iv) His presence

3. The intended purpose of these gifts

a) All gifts were given with a definite purpose.
b) The gifts were meant to benefit the church, the Body of Christ.
