APPLICATION OF JUDICIAL SYSTEM

1. Death penalty

Deuteronomy 13:5
a) The prophet
b) The dreamer of dreams

2. Reasons:

Deuteronomy 13:5, 6
a) Because he has sought to turn people away from God
b) To entice people not to walk in the way of God
c) Serving other gods
d) This is evil that must be dealt with severely

3. What if the guilty person is a relative?

Deuteronomy 13:6
a) A brother
b) A son or daughter
c) The wife
d) A friend

4. How to execute the Law correctly

Deuteronomy 13:8-9
a) You shall not consent
b) Nor listen
c) Nor pity
d) Nor spare
e) Nor conceal
f) But the evil false prophet must be put to death

5. Means of execution

Deuteronomy 13:10
a) By stoning
b) Till death comes

6. Impact on the nation

Deuteronomy 13:11
a) Fear
b) Not to pursue or practise evil

7. National Alert

Deuteronomy 13:12-18
a) Examination: Corrupt people
i) Inquire
ii) Search
iii) Ask diligently
b) Their attempt to entice people away from following the LORD
c) If proven to be true
d) Even if it is a city
i) Execution of the evil ones
ii) Inhabitants to be put to death by the sword (not stoning)
iii) No plundering
iv) City and all its goods to be burned
v) The city is not to be built up again

8. The LORD

Deuteronomy 13:17-18
a) He will then turn away from His fierce anger
b) And He will show mercy
c) And have compassion
d) And multiply you
e) He will evaluate the response of the people
i) If they had listened
ii) If they had kept His commandments
iii) If they would do what is right
