THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE UPON HIS SHOULDER
Ancient Israel sinned greatly against the LORD;
It has rejected all the prophets sent by God.
The people chose instead to walk in error folly;
The path they chose led to untold misery!
Yet the LORD continued to show Israel mercy;
He planned a great and wondrous Gospel story.
He would send the Messiah who would give salvation;
All who turned to Him would receive no condemnation.
This Saviour would also be the Governor;
He would bear glorious titles to His honour.
He would give more than forgiveness;
He would offer a new life of righteousness.
The Messiah would establish His Kingdom;
Nothing He does would be at random.
He would be there to counsel and to guide;
He would also enter the heart and there reside.
