BEHOLD, MY SERVANT

The LORD God introduced His Messiah;

The Saviour is One that we must admire.

Though He is the Messiah, He is also a Servant;

He came to fulfil all that salvation warrants.

The LORD identified Him for all to know and see;

This Servant would display compassion and mercy.

He would never raise His voice in furious anger;

He would be gracious to those who are weaker.

He would seek to uphold truth and justice;

The world is so lacking in kindness and peace.

He came into the world to offer it salvation;

Man, gripped by sin, is headed for destruction.

The LORD would uphold His Servant, the Messiah;

God would anoint Him and give Him the Spirit’s fire.

The Messiah is the One in whom the LORD delights;

He will dispel darkness because He is the Light!
