“HOSANNA TO THE SON OF THE HIGHEST”

Many kings ride into their Capital in great glory;

They enter through the Gates in royal finery.

The subjects welcome the coming of their king;

And many people would raise their voice to sing.

The prophet Zechariah made a strange prophecy;

He spoke of a King who would come most humbly.

He would not come on a mighty war horse in battle array;

He would come riding on a foal of a donkey, with dismay.

The multitudes saw the Lord Jesus riding into Jerusalem;

They suddenly recognised the Lord, and raised an anthem.

They sang “Hosanna to the Son of the Highest;”

To the Son of Man, they sang heartfelt praises.

The Lord Jesus had chosen the path of humility;

He did not want empty pomp and pageantry.

The Son of Man had come to seek and save the lost.;

This quest of Him would come at the greatest cost!
