CONSECRATE A FAST

The land was stripped bare by locust plague;

No tree was spared, and many hearts ached.

The faces of farmers and vinedressers paled;

All their efforts to save the trees had failed!

The rulers and the people were in despair;

The economy of the land was in disrepair.

There was a great call to seek the LORD;

The whole nation was to fast before God!

This was not a time for casual prayer to God;

Supplication must be made to the LORD.

Being barren was not in God’s Plan;

Sin had somehow got out of hand!

Consecrating a Fast speaks of repentance;

Humility before God was of importance.

Perhaps the Lord would grant great mercy;

And He would once again bless amply!
