I WILL TEACH YOU

Diffidence and Fear fill Moses’ mind;

He felt that he was caught in a bind.

He had never been eloquent in speech;

Speaking for the Lord was out of reach!

“I will teach you,” was God’s commitment;

He will not send a servant without equipment.

He will give the words that need to be said;

Fear must not get into the heart and head.

Moses learned to listen and to contemplate;

Spending time in prayer, he did not hesitate.

God had many commandments to be given;

Each word had to be carefully discerned.

Over time, Moses became a skilled teacher;

He had become a most effective speaker.

His teaching was like the refreshing rain;

His words were like a wonderful refrain.
