THE ADVENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit came upon people appointed;
Prophets, priests and kings were anointed.
The Holy Spirit would empower them;
They would become significant men!
Then the LORD gave a prophetic promise;
The power of the Holy Spirit would be released.
The Spirit of God would be graciously outpoured;
This is a special Gift that we must greatly applaud.
The Spirit of God came on one Pentecost Day;
He came with spectacular power in display.
The sound of a mighty rushing wind was heard;
Divine cloven tongues of fire also appeared.
The Disciples of the Lord Jesus were wonderfully filled;
Their hearts must have been tremendously thrilled!
They were able to speak languages they had not learned;
The filling of the Holy Spirit is what we must earnestly yearn!
