IT IS WRITTEN
A truly epic battle was at hand;
The Lord Jesus came to fulfil God’s plan.
He began His ministry in prayer and fasting;
Satan was determined to do his work of tempting.
The Enemy used every bit of cunning he possessed;
The Lord Jesus would have to be strong, though harassed.
He would have to find strength to resist every temptation;
He had come to bring about Man’s needed redemption.
“It is written,” the Lord Jesus proclaimed;
God’s Word bears the authority of God’s name.
With the Word of God, Satan was resisted effectively;
The Lord Jesus remained true to God steadfastly!
“It is written” must also be the way we seek to live;
The Word of God must be truly well-received.
Let us determine to hide God’s word in our heart;
Therein is great power that God wishes to impart.
