PRAYER OF MOSES: A RESPONSE

1. Understanding and appreciating the Presence of God

a) Great significance

b) Actual Presence felt

c) Evidence of God’s Presence

2. If Your Presence does not go with us            Exodus 33:15

a) Do not bring us up from here            Exodus 33:15

b) God’s Presence and God’s grace inseparable            Exodus 33:16

c) Set apart from all the peoples on earth            Exodus 33:16

GOD’S REPLY TO MOSES

1. I will also do this thing that you have spoken    Exodus 33:17

2. You have found grace in my sight      Exodus 33:17

3. I know you by name                   Exodus 33:17

MOSES’ FURTHER REQUEST

1. Please, show me Your glory            Exodus 33:18

2. Meaning: Fullness of Glory of God

GOD’S RESPONSE TO MOSES

1. God’s Presence explained

a) I will make all of My goodness pass before you

b) I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you     Exodus 33:19

2. God’s grace

a) I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious

b) I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion

3. Fulness of God’s glory

a) You cannot see My face     Exodus 33:20

b) No one can see My face and live      Exodus 33:20

4. Preparation

a) Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock   Exodus 33:21

b) When My glory passes by, I will put you in the cleft of the rock   Exodus 33:22

c) And will cover you with My hand while I pass by       Exodus 33:22

d) Then I will take away My hand, and you will see My back
But My face shall not be seen                                              Exodus 33:23
