The Example Of The Psalmist’s Prayer Being Answered

Does God answer our prayers? The answer is a most definite “Yes”. The Psalmist in the text of Psalm 138 testified that the Lord answered his prayer when he prayed for strength.

“In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.”

Psalm 138:3

David declared that God really heard and answered his prayers. He cried out to the Lord in his time of difficulty and He personally granted his petition. The Lord made him bold with strength. There came tremendous strength to his soul. We too can find strength for our soul through our prayers being answered.

Reasons For God Answering Our Prayer

What are the reasons for God to hear our prayers?

1. According To The Lord’s Lovingkindness

“For Your lovingkindness”
Psalm 138:2

The Lord hears our prayers out of the lovingkindness of His heart. God’s lovingkindness is far greater than anything that we can imagine. He answers our prayers because He is most loving to us.

2. According To His Word

“Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”

Psalm 138:2

God also hears our prayers because He is committed to magnifying His word above all things. He answers our prayers according to His truth of His word. If God promised that He will hear us according to His will, He will keep His word.

3. According To Our Humility

“Though the Lord is on high,
Yet he regards the lowly”

Psalm 138:6

The Lord is far greater than all things. He is sovereign over all things, yet He will specially regard those who are humble and lowly. He will specially be there for those who cry to Him with humble hearts. The Lord will answer them.

Praising A God Who Hears And Answers Our Prayers

If God has heard your prayers during your exams, take time to praise Him. David’s response to God was to praise Him with his whole heart (Psalm 138:1-2). Let’s truly appreciate His love and praise Him for answering our prayers.
