The Warning Against Doctrines Of Demons In The Latter Times

In these End Times, the Spirit of God warns us clearly of the growing apostasy in the world.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron”
1 Timothy 4:1-2

There will be some who will depart from the faith and the truth of the word of God. The main reason of such apostasy is the subtle infiltration and the pervasive influence of demonic doctrines. Deceiving spirits will cause people to depart from the faith with their erroneous teachings. When people heed these false doctrines, they will begin to speak lies with hypocrisy. Their own conscience is seared with a hot iron so much so that they will not be able to discern between falsehood and truth. They will end up doing that which is contrary to God’s truths.

The Challenge To Have The Good Doctrine Of God In Our Life

Doctrinal soundness is key in our fight against the doctrine of demons.

1. To Be Nourished By The Good Doctrine

“You will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.”
1 Timothy 4:6

God’s servants are meant to be spiritually fed by the words of faith and by the good doctrine. His teachings are meant to be carefully followed in our lives. Good doctrine feeds our soul and works in our life. It helps us to have sincere faith and a good conscience. The coming Family Camp is a good time to be nourished by the word. Please do take time to come and feed on His word.

2. To Give Attention To The Good Doctrine

“Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”
1 Timothy 4:13

“Give attention” and “giving heed” in verse one are actually from the same Greek word. Instead of giving heed to false doctrines, we are to give heed to the reading of God’s word, to exhorting the brethren with the word and to knowing doctrine. There is one common body of doctrinal truths for us to study. Let’s give our attention to knowing them well and remembering them.

3. To Hold Fast And To Continue In The Good Doctrine

“Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”
1 Timothy 4:16

The phrase “Take heed” in the Greek means “to hold fast to”. We are to be on guard in looking out for ourselves and to hold fast to the doctrines of God’s word. The doctrines from the word of God are meant to be practiced and be evidential in our lives. Let’s come to Camp seeking to learn about the doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ and to apply it. Let’s take heed to ourselves and to the doctrine. Let’s continue in them. In doing this, we will surely deliver ourselves from the sins that affect us and be effective in reaching others.
