No Longer Strangers

Recently, I went to Perth during the September holidays to celebrate Bethel’s 19th Anniversary and visit my sister. It was my 2013 photoblog shiyun1
first time in Perth and everything was very new and exciting to me. But what struck me the most was not the food or the pretty parks but how even though I was in a different country, being in Bethel still felt like home.

“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God”
Ephesians 2:19

My sister and I became closer as we grew older and as the older sibling, it was difficult to leave her alone in a seemingly faraway land. But knowing that my sister has a spiritual family in Perth, where she is not a stranger or foreigner but a fellow citizen and member of the household of God brings a special joy to my heart. This year, I was especially moved when the members of Bethel specially looked out for my sister after the demise of my maternal grandmother in August. Now, I am equally excited as I look forward to the big plans that Bethel has for their 20th Anniversary. See you next year, my family in Bethel!
