Let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ
“Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ,…that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Phil 1:27)
The challenge to conduct ourselves worthy of the gospel of Christ
1. As heavenly citizens
a. Our conduct matters
b. To behave as citizens of heaven
2. Conduct that is worthy of the gospel of Christ
a. Love in the gospel
b. Courage for the sake of the gospel
c. Boldness in defending the gospel
d. Faithfulness to the gospel
3. The purpose of our conduct
a. Standing together in unity
i. There should be a great sense of oneness
ii. To stand together in one spirit
iii. Not just for the moment but continuously
b. Striving together for the faith of the gospel
i. To strive together as one soul
ii. It is for the faith of the gospel
iii. This precious faith of the gospel is worth standing and striving for
