INTRODUCTION

1. The Grace of God
Invitation to enter into the ark Genesis 7:1

a) “Come into the ark”

b) “You and all your household”

c) “Because I have seen that you are righteous
before Me in this generation”

2. A Grateful response to this Gracious Invitation

a) Obedience to God
Noah and his family entered into the ark Genesis 7:7

b) Consciousness of God
As God commanded Genesis 7:5, 16

MERCY AMIDST JUDGMENT

1. Divine Judgment

“Your judgments are a great deep” Psalm 36:6b

a) Judgment of the generation of Noah

b) Destruction of the wicked Genesis 7:21-23

2. The great Mercy of God

“Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens” Psalm 36:5a

“O LORD, You preserve man and beast” Psalm 36:6c

a) Preservation of animals Genesis 7:2, 14

b) Preservation of Noah’s family Genesis 7:1, 23

“Noah and those who were with him
In the ark remained alive”

GOD’S RELATIONSHIP WITH NOAH

1. Remembering Noah

This was a special characteristic of Noah

i) “Noah did according to all
that the LORD commanded him” Genesis 7:5

b) The worship of the Lord

i) “He built an altar to the LORD” Genesis 8:20a

ii) “And took of every clean animal” Genesis 8:20b

iii) “And of every clean bird” Genesis 8:20c
iv) “And offered burnt offerings on the altar” Genesis 8:20d
