A Deeper Appreciation

1. God’s Work in our life

a) Salvation

i) Conviction of our sins

ii) Conversion of our souls

b) Sanctification

i) He makes us holy

ii) He wants us to be conformed to the image of Christ

iii) He enables us to live and serve meaningfully as His holy servants


2. God’s work through the ministry of the Holy Spirit            Romans 8

a) He makes us free from the law of sin and death            Romans 8:2

b) He enables us to be spiritually minded               Romans 8:5

c) He gives us life           Romans 8:11

i) Eternal life

ii) Mortal life

d) He enables us to put to death evil deeds of the body           Romans 8:13

e) He leads us as the children of God           Romans 8:14

f) He teaches us how to relate to God the Father           Romans 8:15

g) He bears witness that we are indeed the children of God          Romans 8:16

h) He enables us to even suffer for the sake of the Lord          Romans 8:17

i) He enables us to bear fruit in our life          Romans 8:23

j) He helps us in our weaknesses          Romans 8:26

k) He enables us to be more than conquerors           Romans 8:37

l) He assures us that nothing will separate us from the love of God          Romans 8:38-39


3. A challenge to examine the good work that God is doing in our life

a) There ought to be changes

b) There ought to be a new creation           2 Corinthians 5:17

i) Old and bad things ought to pass away

ii) All things are made new

c) THere must be confidence what God has begun to do, He will complete it

i) Commencement

ii) Continuation

iii) Culmination

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
