E. THE CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF MOSES AS A SPIRITUAL LEADER
1. God takes the initiative

2. God’s Purpose of revealing Himself

3. Vital aspects of truth about God that need to be established

i) Addressing the problem of Casualness

ii) Dealing with the problem of Idle Curiosity

iii) Dealing with the problem of having little or no sense of the sacred

b) “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”          Exodus 3:5b

i) Sense of holiness of God

ii) Concept of sacredness

iii) Needed humility before God

iv) Reverence of God

v) Fear of God

c) Challenge to the spiritual leader

i) Humility

ii) Awe

iii) Unworthiness (versus… promotion of self)

4. God’s Revelation of Himself

I am the God of your father- the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
