THE DOCTRINE OF SIN

1. Sin affects all mankind

a) All under sin (Romans 3:9)
b) Proof of sin (Romans 3:10-18)
c) All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

2. The law of God and sin

a) By the law is knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20)
b) All the world guilty before God (Romans 3:19)
c) Sin is not imputed where there is no law (Romans 5:13)

3. Entrance of sin

a) Through one man sin entered the world Romans (5:12)
b) And death through sin (Romans 5:12)

4. The consequences of sin

a) Death reigned from Adam to Moses (Romans 5:14)
b) Even those who had not sinned according
to the likeness of the transgression of Adam (Romans 5:14)
c) Sin can abound (Romans 5:20)
d) Sin seeks to reign (Romans 5:21)

5. The answer to sin

a) Christ Jesus (Romans 5:1)
b) His atonement (His substitutionary death) (Romans 5:6, 8)
c) His grace (Romans 5:15, 17,20, 21)
d) His justification (Romans 5:1)

e) His love (Romans 5:5, 8)

f) God’s peace (Romans 5:1)
g) The Holy Spirit given to us (Romans 5:5)
h) The reconciliation effected (Romans 5:9-1)
