THE DOCTRINE OF SIN

THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS

1. An important example: The healing of the paralytic

a) He was healed
b) But more importantly his sins were forgiven          Mark 2:5

2. Angry reaction from some of the scribes

a) Jesus was deemed as having blasphemed          Mark 2:7
b) Forgiveness of sin was the prerogative of God alone          Mark 2:7

JESUS’ WORD TO THE SCRIBES

1. Power to heal

2. Power to forgive sins

3. Which was easier?          Mark 2:9

4. Both are not easy

But Jesus was able to do both!

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MINISTRY OF JESUS

2. He had divine power to heal

3. He also had divine power to forgive sins

4. Jesus healed the paralytic on the spot          Mark 2:11-12
