GOD’S DEALINGS WITH THE WICKED

This part of the Psalm stands in great contrast to God’s dealings with King David

1. Finding the enemies

Your hand will find all Your enemies;
Your right hand will find those who hate You   (Psalm 21:8)
a) Enemies
b) Those who hate God

2. Divine anger

You shall make them as a fiery oven
In the time of Your anger;
The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath
And the fire shall devour them   (Psalm 21:9)
a) Anger/ Wrath of God
b) Enemies would be consumed

3. Offspring of enemies will also be destroyed

Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth,
And their descendants from among the sons of men.   (Psalm 21:10)

4. Intended evil

For they intended evil against You   (Psalm 21:11a)

5. Evil Plotting

They devised a plot which they are not able to perform   (Psalm 21:11b)

6. Turning the enemies back

Therefore You will make them turn their back   (Psalm 21:12a)

7. Divine weapons of war

You will make ready Your arrows
On Your string toward their faces   (Psalm 21:12b)

GIVING GLORY TO GOD

1. Exaltation

Be exalted, O LORD   (Psalm 21:13a)

2. Strength and power of God

Singing about the power of God   (Psalm 21:13b)
