Pronouncement of Judgement

Text: Numbers 14

PRONOUNCEMENT OF JUDGMENT

1. They will not enter the Land of Canaan

2. They will move back to the Wilderness   (Numbers 14:25)

3. The complainers

a) 20 years old and above
b) They will wander and die in the wilderness   (Numbers 14:26-29, 32)

4. Caleb and Joshua will enter into the Promised Land   (Numbers 14:30)

5. The Children (“The little ones”)   (Numbers 14:31-33)

a) God will bring them into the land b) He would help them dwell in the land
c) They will be shepherds in the wilderness
d) They will bear the brunt of their parents’ unfaithfulness

6. Wilderness sojourn   (Numbers 14:34)

a) Forty years
b) Forty days of spying the land (one year for each day spent)

7. Judgment explained

a) You shall know My rejection   (Numbers 14:34)
b) Evil congregation   (Numbers 14:34)
i) Gathered against the Lord
ii) Despising of the land
iii) Unbelief
iv) Rebellion

8. The 10 spies

a) Gave a bad report
b) It was a false report
c) Made the congregation complain
d) They died by the plague   (Numbers 14:36-37)

9. Joshua and Caleb remained alive   (Numbers 14:38)
