Text: Proverbs 29

Dear Parents,

TWO DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSITE TYPES OF PEOPLE
The Scriptures teach this consistently! There is a clear distinction between the upright and the unrighteous. The following text bears this truth out!

An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous,
And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

Proverbs 29:27

1. The unjust and the wicked

a) They are called unjust because he does not believe in doing that which is good and right.

b) He will always clash with those who are righteous.

c) There is an ideological clash with those who believe in righteousness.

d) In this context, the wicked and the unjust man are closely associated (if not exactly synonymous).

e) The wicked is identified by his wicked deeds.

f) The unjust and the wicked will find the righteous and upright abominable!

2. The righteous and the upright

a) These believe in doing that which is good and holy before God.

b) Their lifestyles display their beliefs.

c) The deeds of the unjust and the wicked are an abomination to the righteous.

NO COMPROMISE BETWEEN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND WICKEDNESS
The world believes in “compromise”. It is important that we bear this thought in mind. Wickedness does not diminish in a compromise. However, uprightness suffers distinctively when a compromise is agreed upon!

Wickedness has nothing to lose in any compromise. Righteousness has everything to lose in any compromise. The very nature of righteousness and uprightness is that it cannot compromise with wickedness and unrighteousness! Let us teach our children how to love righteousness and abhor wickedness!
