Dear Parents,

THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN WICKEDNESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
There has always been a terrific struggle between wickedness and righteousness. The passage of time has done nothing to ease the tension between these antitheses! Each generation will have to cope with the many problems that arise between the two.

OBSERVATIONS ABOUT BOTH WICKEDNESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
The following is an observation about the camps of the wicked and the righteous.

When the wicked arise, men hide themselves;
But when they perish, the righteous increase.

Proverbs 28:28

1. The existence of the wicked

Their existence is acknowledged through their being mentioned!

2. The waxing of the wicked

There will be times when the wicked will seem to prevail! And when the wicked seems to wax strong the following may also be observed:-

a) Men hide themselves

There are good reasons why men hide themselves:-

i) They hide to preserve their lives.

ii) They hide for discretionary purposes.

iii) They hide because it would be suicide any other way.

b) The word “men”

This is a reference to “the righteous”.

3. The waning of the wicked

No matter how mighty men are, they are but mortal and they will perish in due time! What happens when the wicked die? The following will result:-

a) The righteous will arise.

b) They will increase in size and strength.

c) The fear of the wicked will disappear and there is courage to stand up and be counted!
